Why is compost fleece needed?
Composting garden waste is the most natural and environmentally friendly way to produce fresh, humus-rich soil for your garden. To speed up the composting process and prevent contamination of the soil, we recommend covering the biomass in the composter with our PREMIUM compost fleece. The garden fleece specially designed for composters fulfills various functions. On the one hand, the compost fleece prevents the surface from drying out due to heat or wind, allowing the biomass to compost more effectively. At the same time, it keeps contaminants such as flying seeds away, so that weeds cannot spread unnoticed in the fresh soil. Last but not least, the compost fleece also serves as a separating layer between the different compost stages, so that you can easily separate the mature compost mass from the fresh or semi-finished compost, for example.
What are the advantages of premiumgarden compost fleece?
Covering a composter with plastic sheeting can lead to a lack of oxygen, causing the compost to rot instead of decomposing. Our compost fleece is a thermally bonded PP/PE fiber fleece with a grammage of 90g/m², which is permeable to water and air. This ensures a permanent exchange of air and moisture, providing the biomass with optimal conditions for the decomposition process. The compost fleece does not contain any toxic substances and can therefore be used as garden fleece for the composter without any problems. You will receive a pack of 3 gray compost fleeces in a practical carrying bag (3m² in total). The garden fleece is extra tear-resistant, UV-resistant, and can be cut to the desired size and shape with scissors or a knife.

Weed protection: Our weed control fabrics are an environmentally friendly and sustainable way of controlling weeds and eliminate the need for aggressive chemicals in the garden. The weed control fabric is simply laid between the flower bed and the mulch layer, so that root weeds no longer have any chance of reaching the light. The weed barrier significantly reduces the amount of maintenance required for flower beds and borders.
Root protection: Our root protection fabrics offer reliable protection against damage caused by tree roots to buildings, cycle paths and footpaths. The waterproof root barrier also helps to keep rhizomes and aggressive root runners in check and prevent the uncontrolled spread of bamboo and similar plants.
Water storage fabric: Water storage fabrics absorb many times their weight in water, thus preventing the soil from drying out. The biodegradable irrigation fabric strips are simply mixed into the soil, where they ensure that stored water reaches the roots directly. For the irrigation of trees in particular, we offer our irrigation net, which is placed around the root ball before planting.
Seed fleece: Our TURFquick seed fleece is a biodegradable cellulose fleece with integrated seeds. This innovative seed fleece prevents fresh seeds from being eaten by birds or washed away by rain. As the seed fleece already contains all the nutrients necessary for seed development, sowing with TURFquick is child's play and no further fertilisation is required.
Tablecloths: Our fleece tablecloths are particularly tear-resistant and durable, making them ideal for garden parties and other outdoor events. The fleece tablecloths are washable and reusable, making them a cost-effective alternative to paper tablecloths.
