TerraSponge – Innovative Water-Retaining Fleece for Garden Beds and Planters
Recent years have shown a trend towards hotter summers and longer dry periods. Plants and trees in particular are affected by increasing drought and require regular watering. The innovative, biodegradable TerraSponge water-retaining fleece strips, awarded the “Natur im Garten” quality seal, can help reduce soil drying and support the water supply to plants.
Even with longer intervals between watering, the water-retaining fleece strips can help keep moisture available in the root zone for longer.
How Does the Biodegradable TerraSponge Water-Retaining Fleece Work?
TerraSponge water-retaining fleece strips are made from highly absorbent cellulose and can absorb up to 10 litres of water per kilogram. The fleece comes in convenient strips and is mixed into the planting soil at a ratio of 1:10.
The cellulose strips absorb rainwater and irrigation water and gradually release the stored moisture into the surrounding root zone. This can increase the water retention capacity of the growing medium and support soil structure.
Biodegradable Water-Retaining Fleece – Awarded the “Natur im Garten” Quality Seal
TerraSponge water-retaining fleece strips are made from 100% cellulose and are biodegradable. The product has been awarded the “Natur im Garten” quality seal.
The material is designed for one gardening season and gradually decomposes afterwards. TerraSponge is therefore particularly suitable for the establishment phase of plants and for annual crops.
