The climate is changing: summers are becoming hotter and dry periods are increasing, even in our latitudes. Young trees in particular suffer from the increasing drought, as their roots are not yet sufficiently developed to supply themselves with water from deeper layers of soil. With our innovative water storage fleece nets, you can prevent the soil from drying out and significantly increase the chances of survival for young trees, as the water reaches the nets where it is most needed: at the roots. In addition, the nets keep the soil loose and thus also keep the roots well aerated.
How does the compostable water storage fleece work?
Our water storage fleece nets are made from an extremely absorbent PLA/cellulose mixture that can store up to 10 liters of water per kilogram of soil. The irrigation fleece is supplied as a net in two different sizes, which is pulled apart before planting and placed around the root balls of the trees. It can then simply be covered with soil and will begin to demonstrate its excellent water storage capabilities. The water storage nets absorb large quantities of irrigation and rainwater and slowly release it to the surrounding roots, while at the same time preventing waterlogging. In addition, the roots can grow through the net without any problems and the soil remains loose without compacting.
Biodegradable in 5-10 years – optimal tree irrigation during the growth phase
The degradable irrigation fleece strips are made of a PLA/cellulose mixture that has a shelf life of 5-10 years. This means that the material lasts longer than the 100% cellulose version and provides young trees with the optimal water supply throughout the entire growth phase.
