Lawn grids made from recycled plastic: the cost-effective solution for soil stabilization
Our lawn grids and gravel grids are a simple and cost-effective solution for stabilizing the subsoil without sealing the ground. The lawn grids are made from recycled plastic (PE/PP) and can be easily connected to each other thanks to the integrated ground spikes. They can be filled with grass, gravel, or crushed stone and, depending on the subsoil and soil conditions, can achieve a load capacity of up to 160 t/m². The lawn grids have a wide range of applications and are suitable for, e.g.:
- Sidewalks, garden paths, and farm roads
- Parking lots, parking spaces
- Stabilizing the subsoil in areas with heavy foot or vehicle traffic or green spaces
- Playgrounds, parks, golf courses
- Driveways and storage areas
- Embankment reinforcement
- Barrier-free wheelchair and bicycle paths
Innovative product features for easy handling and secure grip
Lawn honeycombs are an ecological alternative to paving stones or asphalt and are particularly suitable for sustainable urban drainage systems. The lawn honeycombs consist of individual panels measuring 492 mm x 492 mm x 39 mm (4.1 honeycomb grids = 1 m²). The underside of the panels features integrated 33 mm long spikes that can be used to fix the gravel grids both to each other and to the ground. The resulting usable area per honeycomb grid is 0.242 m² (4 grids = 0.968 m²). The lawn grids are easy to cut to the required size, either with a standard angle grinder or a hand saw or jigsaw.
Installation instructions
Before laying the lawn honeycombs, a stable, compacted, and water-permeable soil structure must be created using a mixture of gravel or crushed stone. Depending on the load, excavation to a depth of approx. 30-40 cm is recommended, which is then compacted mechanically. This is followed by a layer of gravel or crushed stone (15-30 cm), which is also compacted mechanically. When filling the lawn grids with gravel or crushed stone, the area can be driven on immediately; when filling with grass seed, the area can be driven on after approx. 6 weeks.
The lawn grids are suitable for filling with gravel or grit with a maximum grain size of 20 mm.

Soil protection
The demand for unsealed usable areas has risen sharply in recent years, and with it the demand for alternatives to traditional ground coverings such as asphalt and concrete. Our products for ground and turf protection meet the requirement for permanent strength without affecting the natural infiltration of rainwater. The result is unsealed yet resilient and natural green or gravel surfaces. These options allow footpaths, access roads and even parking areas to be planned and designed to a high standard.
Driveable lawn grids: Our lawn grids are made of plastic and are used for ground stabilisation and lawn protection. The range includes simple lawn grids for footpaths or parking areas as well as stable lawn protection grids suitable for higher vehicle loads.
Lawn grids: Our BodPave®85 honeycomb grid system is made of plastic and is used to stabilise and reinforce lawns and gravel areas. The individual BodPave®85 panels are connected to each other with a click system to form a heavy-duty surface. They have an open grid structure that can be filled with a mixture of soil, sand and grass seed or covered with turf. Filling the panels with gravel is also a suitable decorative alternative.
Event flooring: Our event flooring includes safety rubber mats, floor mats and turf protection grids. These floor coverings are suitable for different types of flooring and provide protection at trade fairs, large events or smaller events.
Geocells: Geocells consist of three-dimensional, flexible honeycomb units made from thermally bonded non-woven fabric strips. Our geocells are used for erosion control and soil stabilisation.
