hanit® Honeycomb Grids – Heavy-Duty Ground Reinforcement with a Water-Permeable Grid Structure
hanit® honeycomb grids made from recycled plastic are suitable for stabilising surfaces and can be used for parking areas, vehicle spaces, storage areas, access roads and other heavily used outdoor surfaces.
The open grid structure provides a reinforced surface while still allowing rainwater to drain or infiltrate through the openings. With their strong ribs and integrated connecting hooks, the panels form a stable and load-bearing surface system.
With a suitably load-bearing subsoil and correct installation, the honeycomb grids can also be used for more heavily loaded areas, such as fire brigade access routes or parking areas for heavy commercial vehicles.
hanit® Recycled Plastic – Awarded the Blue Angel Environmental Label
The honeycomb grids are made from hanit® recycled plastic. The hanit® material used has been awarded the Blue Angel environmental label and therefore meets defined requirements for the recycled plastic used.
hanit® is weather-resistant, frost-resistant and UV-resistant and is suitable for long-term outdoor use. Thanks to their low weight, the panels are easier to transport and install than many solid solutions made from stone or concrete.
Suitable for High Loads
hanit® honeycomb grids are suitable for SLW 60 load class according to DIN 1072.
With a sufficiently load-bearing subsoil and correct installation, they can also be used for areas subject to high loads. According to the manufacturer, applications with wheel loads of up to 10 t are possible, provided that the sub-base and ground conditions are designed accordingly.
The 5 mm wide ribs and integrated connecting hooks support a stable surface system.
Water-Permeable Construction Instead of Full Surface Sealing
The honeycomb structure can be filled with various suitable materials and supports the drainage or infiltration of rainwater.
The stated sealed surface proportion is 58%. The surface is therefore not completely unsealed, but has a partially open structure.
Depending on the subsoil, infill material and installation, the grid structure can help drain surface water more quickly and reduce waterlogging.

Installation Note
The actual load-bearing capacity of the surface depends largely on the subsoil, sub-base, infill material and correct installation. For heavily loaded applications, the construction should be designed according to the intended use.

Soil protection
The demand for unsealed usable areas has risen sharply in recent years, and with it the demand for alternatives to traditional ground coverings such as asphalt and concrete. Our products for ground and turf protection meet the requirement for permanent strength without affecting the natural infiltration of rainwater.
