hanit® decking boards made from recycled plastic are suitable for terraces, balconies and other outdoor areas. Their modern wide-groove structure creates a clean, contemporary appearance and gives the surface a distinctive profile.
The solid profile made from recycled plastic is weather-resistant, splinter-free and rot-resistant. Regular surface treatment such as painting, oiling or impregnation is not required. This makes the decking boards suitable for private as well as commercial and public outdoor areas.
Advantages Compared with Wood and WPC
Compared with many wooden terraces, hanit® decking boards do not require regular treatment with oil, paint or impregnation. At the same time, they do not produce wood splinters and the material is rot-resistant.
Unlike WPC, hanit® is a recycled plastic without wood fibre content. This means that material characteristics associated with wood-containing composites do not apply.
According to the manufacturer, hanit® decking boards are also resistant to algae, fungi and mould. They therefore provide a robust solution for outdoor areas where weather and moisture regularly play a role.
hanit® Recycled Plastic with "Blauer Engel"
hanit® products made from recycled plastic are awarded the "Blauer Engel" environmental label in various product groups. The award is based on the DE-UZ 30a criteria for products made from recycled plastics.
These criteria include requirements regarding the proportion of recycled plastics used as well as limits for certain harmful substance contents and releases.
This documents a concrete and verifiable environmental standard for the recycled plastic used.

Processing Instructions for hanit® Decking Boards
When installing hanit® decking boards, the temperature-dependent change in length of the material must be taken into account. This can be up to ± 1.5%.
Pre-drilling is recommended for screw connections. The drilled hole should be sufficiently dimensioned to allow for the temperature-related expansion of the material.
Due to possible tool wear, the manufacturer recommends carbide-tipped tools for working with hanit® products.
Suitable profiles made from hanit® recycled plastic can be used for the substructure. An appropriate fleece can also be installed between the ground and the substructure to help reduce unwanted plant growth beneath the terrace.
