Treeguard CutSheets tree protection grids: Our solution for existing trees
In addition to their use with new plantings, our Treeguard tree protection grid arches are primarily used where trees with already grown crowns need to be protected. When closed tree protection tubes can no longer be placed over the plant due to branches, Treeguard CutSheets anti-browsing protection mesh arches are a flexible alternative. The pre-cut mesh arches are available in different sizes so that trees can be protected at different heights depending on the specific scratching and feeding pests. The tree protection grids are 60 cm wide and can be used to form tubes with a diameter of 20 cm.
Advantages and possibilities of Treeguard CutSheet tree protection grids
Our Treeguard tree protection grid sheets are visually unobtrusive and have a service life of at least 7 years, depending on location and climatic conditions. They are universally applicable, e.g., as scratch protection against cats, as browsing protection for sheep or wild animals, or as protection against mechanical damage, e.g., from lawnmowers and brush cutters. Since Treeguard CutSheets tree protection mesh arches can of course also be used crosswise, they are also suitable as mowing and browsing protection for broad-growing plants such as shrubs. The height of the resulting tubes is then 60 cm.
Installation instructions: Reliable protection against browsing and scratching in just a few steps We recommend using a hardwood
stake and a hand tacker or cable ties to install the tree protection mesh.
• Drive a hardwood stake at least 30 cm into the ground next to the plant to be protected.
• Staple one side of the cut-to-size browsing protection mesh to the wooden stake.
• Make sure that the mesh arch touches the ground so that potential predators, such as rodents, cannot reach the plant from below.
• Shape the tree protection mesh arch around the trunk.
• Staple the second side to the wooden stake. Alternatively, you can also use cable ties for fastening.
Please note that the edges of the anti-browsing mesh are only smooth and reinforced at a height of 60 cm. The cut-to-size mesh is also available with a polyethylene coating (Shelterguard) in various sizes.
