TUBEX Ventex Clear – Effective tree protection even in low-light locations
TUBEX Ventex Clear is a transparent growth sleeve that has been specially developed for pre-cultivation or "cultivation under cover." This refers to the artificial introduction of young, shade-tolerant tree species, such as European beech or silver fir, into an old stand. Pre-cultivation serves to shorten production periods and stabilize monocultures or pure stands of a single age class.
Since young trees such as silver fir are often at risk from wildlife browsing, they require effective protection against browsing. Our growth sleeves are available in heights of up to 1.8 m and thus offer effective protection, even in areas with red deer populations. Thanks to its transparent material, the TUBEX Ventex Clear growth sleeve also ensures that sufficient light can reach the young plant despite its shady location.
The transparent growth sleeve in proven TUBEX Ventex quality
The TUBEX Ventex Clear tree protection sleeve is comparable to the classic TUBEX Ventex in terms of material properties. It features a patented ventilation system that promotes growth by creating a microclimate inside the growth sleeve. In addition, the rounded edge lip at the top prevents abrasions on shoots and tree trunks. A perforation line allows the tree protection sleeve to be broken open as soon as the tree trunk has reached the appropriate diameter. Thanks to the use of UV-stabilized polypropylene (PP), the growth sleeves can be removed from the forest without leaving any residue after breaking open and have no adverse effects on the soil.
Installation of the growth sleeve – for effective protection against browsing and gnawing
Drive a planting stake at least 30 cm into the ground. Press the growth sleeve firmly into the soil to prevent gaps for rodents and ensure reliable protection against gnawing. Then attach the tree protection sleeve to the planting stake using the pre-installed cable ties.
Due to the ventilation holes, it is not recommended to use the growth sleeve in locations where herbicides are used. Closed tubes are not suitable for beech trees as they require more space. We therefore recommend our Treeguard CutSheets, Layflats, or roll goods.
