TUBEX Nature combines the proven design of a TUBEX growth sleeve with a material blend based on bio-based raw materials. According to the manufacturer, the raw materials used include sugarcane, corn, and starch.
The growth sleeve is designed to protect young trees and plants during the establishment phase and is particularly suitable for use in areas where later collection of the sleeves is difficult or impractical.
According to the manufacturer, the material’s biodegradability in soil has been independently tested in accordance with ISO 17556. TUBEX Nature is designed to degrade over time through microbiological processes under suitable soil and environmental conditions.

Bio-based raw materials and biodegradability in soil
TUBEX Nature is made from a blend of bio-based materials. According to the manufacturer, the components are derived from sugarcane, corn, and starch, among other sources.
The growth sleeve has been externally tested in accordance with ISO 17556 for its biodegradability in soil. Additionally, the manufacturer provides data on tests conducted in accordance with OECD 207 and OECD 208.
The rate of the degradation process depends on the specific soil, site, and weather conditions. The intended service life may therefore vary depending on the location.
Installation Instructions
To install the TUBEX Nature plant sleeve, use a suitable plant stake and anchor it sufficiently deep into the ground. The plant sleeve is then placed over the plant and secured to the plant stake using the pre-installed cable ties.
The lower edge of the sleeve should be placed as close to the ground as possible or slightly inserted into the soil to reduce open access points for rodents.
At the end of the intended service life, biodegradation can be promoted by placing the growth sleeve in direct contact with the soil, covering it with soil, or mulching it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

How is TUBEX Nature installed? What is required? TUBEX products are
designed to be as easy to install as possible. The individual protection is delivered ready for installation: no complicated assembly of tubes and no threading of cable ties. Simply insert a fixing stake into the ground, pull the growth sleeve over the young plant and secure it with the pre-installed cable ties.
How long does TUBEX Nature browsing protection last?
The actual service life of growth sleeves made from renewable raw materials depends heavily on the local conditions. Weather and location influence decomposition. In a forest climate, they last at least 5 years.

TUBEX Nature is suitable for all deciduous tree species except beech. For coniferous tree species, we recommend the PureNature tree protection grid.
